What It Takes To Stop Gambling Your Life Away with Glenn Draper

“It’s all about the art of separation, just deviate away from those who drain your inspiration...” Those are lyrics Glenn Draper wrote for a friend who was trying to get off drugs. Years later he realised he was writing it to himself.

These days Glenn’s a dedicated family man who won’t touch a drink - a total 180 from the wildly destructive life he once lived. Glenn is a recovering drug and gambling addict who used to pride himself on pushing the limits of excess.

His relationship with gambling started at a young age and exploded when he entered manhood. He pumped hundreds of thousands through the pokies, lived pay cheque to pay cheque chasing cheap highs and desperately lacked love and purpose in his life. It was a road that was leading to a sad end, but fortunately for glenn he found a strong enough reason to change and pulled himself out of a tailspin.

There are few mistakes Glenn hasn’t made and many things he’s not proud of...But he’s not shying away from it and doesn’t let it define the man he is today. Glenn’s telling his story because he wants to be an example to others who are in that trap that there’s a way out and he wants to spread the message to young men that gambling isn’t a game
